I am trying to install oracle8 on Solaris8 .I installed solaris 8
using interactive method.while installing Oracle it is giving
'make not found' error.

I have given this command at # prompt.

#/usr/bin/which make

it is giving ..
make not found in /usr/bin etc..
I added /usr/ccs/bin also in the path as per docs.
where am i commiting mistake? Which package or module i have to run in solaris
inorder to load 'make' and other executables like 'ar' and 'ld' ?

Thanks in advance.

You have to go to www.sunfreeware.com and download make, ld, ccs for Solaris 8 (x86). They are like packages, so install them with :

#pkgadd -d package_name

Then try again.

Hope that helps,
