Hi, a colleague overseas has recently run into a problem that I've never seen before.
While trying to bump up the shared pool and database buffers, he was getting messages on startup that there were invalid parameters depite there being far more RAM on the server than was being used (it was allowing combined max of 400M on a dedicated server with 4G RAM).
Eventually he tried reducing the max concurrent users, and this seemed to allow him to move above this 400M limit.
Does Oracle restrict SGA size based on expected PGA usage or something of the sort?
