Hi there,
Trying to have an oracle7 dump file of some oracle8
tables, in unixware 7.1.0 platform , screen fades
and i should interrupt by CONTROL-C to get the
number of records exported message after a while .
For that sake i have installed both oracle 8.0.5 and
oracle 7.1.0 editions in my unixware 7.1.0 platform .
I've checked the profile's LD_LIBRARY_PATH and
ORACLE_HOME of the exporting user making sure they
point to the oracle7's library files home directory.
Iam a bit in doubt about ORACLE_TERM and TERM
parameters in .profile of the exporting user, and also
suspicious about whether, export run has right access
to what it needs from library files or from any sort
of files it requires for its job to be fullfiled .

Any idea is welcomed .

Sorry if this is a silly question, but have you run $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catexp7.sql on your 8.0.5 database? Can you connect with the O7 sqlplus to the 8.0.5 database?

As far as ORACLE_TERM, I have rarely seen it set (usually vt100). The default for TERM should work, but you should be able to set it to vt100 if you are still having trouble.

I do not understand what you mean about the screen fades/control-c to see the rows exported.

Good luck!
Andy
