Hi there,

I am trying to install Oracle 9i downloaded from otn network. I have success fully downloaded but when I run the setup file from Disk1 (stored in local HDD), I am getting following error,
“The java Runtime environment was not found at c:docu~`”xyzlocals~1Orainstalljrebinjrew.exe Hence Oracle universal installer can not be run.. Install Jre1.1.7 or higher & then run again”

I already have JRE installed in my machine.

Pls advise immediately.

With Regards,
uday

Check the definition of the JRE_LOCATION on the file oraparam.ini,
and change "$ORACLE_HOME" for the absolute path to the ORACLE_HOME.
and
WHAT IS THE OS?

HI,
I the only fix i know is to edit oraparam.ini
and give full path in ORACLE_HOME,JRE_LOCATION and OUI_INSTALLER.
im looking into this ,
will let you know.
and is there by any chance you have your CLASSPATH OR CLASS_PATH defined in your envrionment?
if so remvoe them and try again.

is the machine you are trying to install is a P4 machine?
1. Copy the entire CD to a temp directory in Harddisk
2. look for the filename symcjit.dll.
3. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
4. Run the setup.exe from the Harddisk.
or
do you have any other oracle version or OUI (ORACLE UNIVERSAL INSTALLER) still in the machine?

No, it's a PIII machine with 200 Mb RAM & 40 Gb HDD. It is loaded with Win2K profesional with latest service patch SP3.

I have already renamed the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old. But still I am not getting anything after running set-up. Pls help...
