i want to know about Differ LMT/DMT and segment
space management Auto/Manual.
I read Documentation and go through ur site many
times since last one month. But Now i
m Totaly Confused .
what my assumptions now ( After read docu. and my
practice ) ..
Localy manage Tablespaces store blocks state in
Bitmaps ....
No undo Genrate .. because no dictionaries updations
occured except Quota
They Do not need to Fragmentation ...they
Automaticaly track Adjacent space
IF we are using localy manage then
All parameters ignored After Initial Size Calculation
and Initial size will be near * 5
blocks.
If segment space management is auto obseletes
freelists,pctfree not pctused..
and if we change block level parameters then we have
to call dbms_repir.segment_fix ...
-- But i Have Many Questions .
1.
When We create Lmt With Segment Space Management
manual ..mean Freelist comes in play ..
Then There is any Differ with in DMT/LMT .. Mean
According my Knowldge it stores
only blocks state in segment weather a blocks is free
or not for insertion.
But if lmt with space management manual oracle will
use Free List .. Then Is there Any
Differ in DMT/ LMT with segment space management
Manual ... pls tell me

we are able to get each info from
Data Dict. mean if oracle store info in bitmap
segments then how we can get info
form data dict.. i read at ur site that oracle read
its from bitmap segments
... is there any info that we can not get from dict
when we use LMT with segment Auto/Manual
3. When We use segment space auto y oracle obslete
pctfree not pctused
and Whats the locgic Behind This ....
4. We Can Use
Dbms_space_admin.tablespace_migrate_to_local or
From_local ... when we should
Use This Procedure .. what it does internally ..
what is its drawback.. It Is possible
Online ... mean if we have lmt with segment space
management auto ... and we change migrate
from local.. what will happen .. DMT not Support
Auto space management ...
5. If We change the block level parameter in dMt
pctfree and pctused.. mean it will
allocate for new blocks not which are already
assigned .. but in Documentation i read
That oracle Will Manage for Allready Assigned
Blocks ...
pls Explain ...
