Hi,
I hope someone can answer my question on Oracle licensing models. I understand that nowadays mainly 2 licensing models are available, "processor" and "named user" licensing.
My question is: Suppose you have 100 named user licenses, does this mean that those 100 users can ACCESS ANY ORACLE SERVER, FROM ANY DEVICE?
Or, for any particular Oracle Server to be legally accessed, you need n named-user licenses.

Thanks for your help.

Not exactly.

First when you pay Oracle licence, that applies to one installation. You don't move installation from db server to db server every day, so whatever server was licensed - this one has to be used.

And not from any device - if you are comming from any Web enabled interface - you cannot user the named-user licensing. You have to purchase - per CPU one.

Hope that helps,
