STARTUP PFILE=..... IS USED TO STARTUP MY DATABASE.IF I USE STARTUP THEN THE OTHER PARAMETER FILE IS STARTED. HOW COULD I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I WANT TO WRITE ONLY STARTUP TO START MY PARAMETER FILE.

startup pfile='complete_path_of_yourPFILE'

Copy the init.ora file to the Oracle_homedatabase directory where from oracle pick up the init.ora file

hello,

if u r on windows box, open the regedit and go to the oracle section and set the oracle_sid to the sid name which u want to start when u say startup..

My oracle is in Linux environment.I tried writing
startup pfile='full path' but could not solve the problem.Next time again require as above.I want to write only startup....
