Hello:
I was creating few databaes on Oracle 9.2.0 using DBCA. I noticed that all databases that were created did not have any rollback segments at all. As few of our procedures are specifically invoking the use of explicit rollback segments, I decided to create some. But I got the following error (which doesn't allow me to create rollback segments):
ORA-30019: Illegal rollback Segment operation in Automatic Undo mode
Creating or managing rollback segments is unnecessary, and is disallowed in Automatic Undo mode.
So my question is, should I completely give up creating anymore rollback segments? So , what should I do with the procedures that invoke explicit rollback segments for operation? Should I remove those entries? Does automatic undo mode create any performance issues?
