change a temporary tablespace from permanet to temporaru [message #58995]

I have tablespace a1 that is of permanet type. Can I change it to temporaray. The goal is to alter database and define it at default temporary tablespace.

I am just trying to avoid recreating the existing tablespace.

For best performance, create a new TEMPORARY tablespace using tempfiles and assign that as your DEFAULT temporary tablespace.

and dont forget to make that TEMPORARY tablespace as LOCALLY MANAGED with uniform extent sizes..
